Edinburgh USA in Brooklyn Park is just minutes from the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest. Edinburgh features an island hole, a triple green and several water holes with winding lakes around the course. It’s one of the toughest courses in the Twin Cities.

It is a Scottish design with nearly 70 bunkers and 12 acres of water. Edinburgh USA was named by Golf Digest as one of “America’s Top 75 Affordable Courses,” and by Golf Magazine as one of the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S.” It just celebrated its 25th anniversary. Best Public Golf Courses in the Twin Cities: Rush Creek Golf Club

Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove has been named one of the best courses in Minnesota by Golf Digest Magazine and was voted “Best Public Golf Course” in 2001 and 2002 by Citysearch.com. Its 18-hole championship golf course has hosted many national events including 3 LPGA Tour events and most recently, the 2004 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. This is a public course with the feel of a private club. Rush Creek is also home to a 300-yard practice range with covered stations at both ends – so you can practice your game no matter what the weather is like.

Best Twin Cities Golf Courses: Bunker Hills Golf Club

Travel just north of the Minneapolis Marriott Northwest and you’ll find Bunker Hills Golf Club. Bunker Hills is one of the top venues to play golf in the Twin Cities and is recognized as one of the top 25 public courses in the country by Golf Digest. The course in Coon Rapids features 75 bunkers and large greens to challenge players.  Its new clubhouse just opened in 2011.

The Links at Northfork is a Scottish Links style golf course in the Twin Cities. The Links features a 4-star Golf Digest rated Championship course, four sets of tee boxes and a par eleven 3-hole practice loop. During the summer the golf professionals at this course in Ramsey even offer free tips on the weekends from 7-11am.
